Year 4 have been learning about the ancient Kingdom of Benin. Benin is a country located in West Africa. We have been discussing why it is important to study other countries particularly the history of the country. To help us to understand the history we had the pleasure of speaking to a real life Princess from Benin.
Her name is Miss. Julie Okojie. This week she shared lots of amazing facts and information about her country. We learned that her grandfather was an Oba (King ) of Benin from 1933 to 1978. His name was Oba Akenzua. She showed us some wonderful photographs and told us what it is like inside the palace of Benin.
Now we have even more fantastic knowledge about the history of Benin!
