St John's is in the heart of Kingston upon Thames and our school is very near the town centre, railway station and various bus routes. There is a small car park within school grounds which fills quickly. Portland Road and the surrounding area has a few meter spaces for extra visitors which all use the RingGo app.
We are gold award holders of the travel plan scheme and encourage using public transport, cycling or walking to St John's. Most of our children walk, cycle or scooter to school.
School Streets Scheme
The School Streets scheme for our area started on Monday 1 November 2021 and will operate as a restricted pedestrian and cycle only zone, Monday - Friday between 8.30am-9.30am and 2.45pm-3.45pm during school term times only. During these periods there will be restrictions on vehicles entering the zone.
Upon Arrival
St John's is committed to creating a safe and secure environment for all visitors whilst keeping those on site safe.
Upon arrival head to the school main entrance on Portland Road where our office staff will be able to sign you in and give you a visitor lanyard. You will be expected to wear this at all times whilst on site and to return it on exit. You will require a chaperone whilst on the premises. All our entrances and exits are covered by CCTV.
If the fire alarm sounds during your visit, please follow the instructions of our staff and make your way to the school playground.
St John's is a no smoking site.
