Lifting Young Voices Choir Concert
The pupils performed their songs at the Lifting Young Voices Choir Concert at All Saints Church, which was a packed event attended by many families. Year 3 and 4 have worked hard throughout the term to develop their singing skills in music lessons, and the concert provided a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their talents and celebrate their achievements.

British Science Week for Year 3
Year 3 had a fantastic time during British Science Week. The theme was Curiosity. The class investigated the question: Does the way food looks change how it tastes? The class tasted a variety of different fruits and vegetables that were wonky looking against organic perfect produce and tested their theories. World Book Day Year 3
Year 3 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day 2026. The class had a wonderful time in assembly, proudly parading their outfits. They created mini “tempting books” to recommend stories they had enjoyed and even visited Nursery and Reception to read to the younger children.

Egyptian Day
We’ve had a fantastic Egyptian Day in class today.The class made an amazing effort into their incredible costumes – from impressive pharaohs and dazzling Cleopatras to powerful Gods and even a pyramid. The children truly looked the part! The day was organised as a carousel of hands-on activities. Kew Gardens
Year 3 had an exciting trip to Kew Gardens, where we explored the rainforest and discovered how people live in different places around the world. Inside the tropical glasshouses, we learned about the amazing plants, animals, and environments found in rainforests, and why they are so important. We also found out how people adapt to life in these unique regions. It was a fun, hands-on day of learning and adventure!

Black History Month: Althea Gibson
To celebrate Black History Month, Year 3 have been learning about the inspiring life of Althea Gibson, the first Black athlete to win a Grand Slam tennis title. The children were fascinated by her determination and courage in overcoming barriers in sport and society. They explored her achievements through discussion, writing, and creative activities, gaining a deeper understanding of perseverance and equality.

Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Day
This week, we enjoyed a special Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Day. We were visited by coach Kane of A1 Multisports, who gave us a day to remember. We loved being active in a new and exciting way! Harvest Assembly
Year 3 had a wonderful time attending our Harvest Service this week. The children listened carefully, sang beautifully, and shared some very thoughtful reflections about gratitude and giving. Their maturity and kindness shone through as they considered how we can all help others and appreciate the food we have. Well done, Year 3, for representing our school so beautifully!

Bronze Age workshop
The children enjoyed a fascinating Bronze Age workshop led by Millie’s family, who live on a farm near Hastings where a real Bronze Age settlement was discovered. They explored the Stone and Bronze Ages, handled examples of ancient tools, and learned how people lived closely with nature. Everyone had a go at making cordage from nettles and created their own clay pinch pots inspired by Bronze Age pottery. It was a fun, hands-on session that really brought history to life!

Science – Investigating Rocks
Year 3 have been busy becoming rock detectives! The class explored different types of rocks, learning how they are formed and how we can identify them by their properties. They grouped and classified a range of rock samples before taking part in a hands-on experiment to see how erosion and layering affect rock formation.
