Beep Beep Day

St John’s took part in a Beep Beep! Day to teach our children important road safety basics. Our Junior Road Safety Officers (Sam and Ronnie) led an assembly to talk about Road Safety Heroes.

These are people who help make journeys safer. Some examples given by our children were school crossing patrols, police officers, fire, rescue and ambulance services, and our JRSOs. Sam and Ronnie told us everyone can be a road safety hero by using roads safely to protect themselves and others and speaking up for road safety.

The younger children were reminded that they should always hold hands with a grown-up when walking near roads and always cross roads at safe places with a grown up. KS2 were reminded that they shouldn’t use their phones when crossing roads and when cycling they should always wear a helmet to protect their head.

Well done Sam and Ronnie for reminding us how to use roads safely!
