Turing Y6 Remembrance Day Reflections

This is our Remembrance Day display with a wreath made by Nursery.

We have Remembrance Day because we remember the people who fought for our peace in WW1 and WWII.  Poppers grew on the battlefield of the war grounds - Chelsea

… and in the fields poppies grew where once stood soldiers strong and true. Sofia

Each year we do a 2 minute silence to remember and reflect on the soldiers who fought to the end, those who like whose lives were taken from them. Let them rest in peace for all eternity and may others also reflect on their sacrifice. Isabel

Remembrance Day is a very special day when we take two minutes of our time to stay silent. We do this to show respect to all the soldiers who lost their lives while fighting for peace and our freedom. People all around the world show respect this way too.  Kashfiya

At the end of the war a red poppy grew in the field. Now everybody wears a poppy for those who died.  The red represents the blood shed for us. Joel
