Spring Term News 1

The first half of the spring term has been full of adventure, imagination, and wonderfully muddy learning. With all the recent rain, the children absolutely embraced the forest, delighting in the squelchy mud and wet weather as they explored, played, and discovered the world around them.
Our focus on colours sparked so much excitement. The children identified and sorted colours, experimented with mixing shades, and even became little chefs as they cooked rainbow cupcakes. They tasted zingy yellow lemons, tried limboing under a rainbow, and explored how to make their own rainbows using coloured pens and water. Their curiosity was unstoppable.
Stories have been a big part of our days too. Pirate and knight tales became firm favourites, inspiring imaginative play where we sailed the seas, searched for treasure, and even practised our jousting skills.
In maths, the children have been busy counting, ordering numbers, and spotting shapes around the classroom. They created brilliant shape monsters and used their growing knowledge to talk about what they noticed. And of course, they worked hard on something very special to bring home for Valentine’s Day.
It’s been a joyful, lively start to the term, full of learning through play, exploration, and creativity. We can’t wait to see what the next half brings.
