St John’s celebrated Language day. Our school was a sea of colour with children dressed in the national dress of their countries or the colours of a flag to celebrate our different languages and cultures at home and around the world. It was a joy to hear our children talk so confidently about the country they were representing. During the day, the children enjoyed exploring different languages in a fun and creative way. They enjoyed a range of exciting activities organised by students from Kingston Grammar learning Spanish, Italian, French and German through games and song.

What a lovely idea for a school celebration! It is so wonderful that the children got to dress up and share their languages and cultures through games and songs. At our school's international day we used a wheel spinner (https://wheelnames.org) to randomly pick which country's music to dance to next, and it went down a treat with the kids!
