My name is Chris Gurney, and I am the parent of two children attending St John’s.

I was elected as a Parent Governor in 2019. I am a qualified solicitor and I currently practice law at the National Education Union

I have been part of the St Johns school Community since my daughter joined the school’s nursery in
2017.

I have lived in Kingston since 2014. I am a former St Johns parent, an active member of the local community

I have lived in Kingston since 1967, when I came here originally to train as a teacher.

My role is to bring an awareness and understanding of the local authority priorities and policies.

I was interested in taking on the role of governor after being involved in the St Johns Church community for many years

I was opted on as a Foundation Governor in 2020 through my role as a member of the PCC at St Johns Church
